4. Registration, closing date and change and late registration
Registration for the 5th LOWA Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz will open on October 3, 2025 and can be accessed via the website www.ultratrail-fraenkische-schweiz.de/anmeldung and www.raceresult.com.
Registration deadline is April 18, 2026.
There are no late registrations.
The transfer of a starting place to another person is possible until April 18, 2026 for a processing fee of EUR 15.00.
A return of purchased starting places is not possible.
Reporting data and the transfer of the starting place can be processed independently. To process, follow the links in the registration confirmation email.
5. Tracks and fees
The UTFS 2026 offers two high-profile competition courses as well as activities for children and young people. In addition to the main competition, the Ultratrail, there is a half-distance, the Speedtrail. Children from 6 to 12 years old can take part in the Kidsrun, young people from 12 to 18 years old in the Youthtrail.
Route details and GPX files can be found on the respective route pages.
Important: The routes may be changed at certain points up to the event due to new requirements, e.g. species protection measures. Updates will be published via newsletter announced.
The route is marked. Markings may be missing or altered due to rain, vandalism, etc. Participants are responsible for finding the route even without markings, through the use of additional navigation.
6. Start/Finish
The start and finish area for both the ultra and the speed trail, as well as the children’s and youth races, is centrally located on the market square in Ebermannstadt.
7. Timekeeping and checkpoints
The timekeeping will be installed and supervised by the timekeeping partner Rüdiger Hecht. The timekeeping is a gross timekeeping. Further timekeeping will be carried out at the refreshment points along the route.
8. Start- and Cut-Off-Times / Food Points
At the food points (VP) water and isotonic drinks, as well as food containing energy will be distributed. It is requested to bring your own drinking container. There are no disposable cups at the VPs!

Issuing of start numbers from 15:00 to 20:00 in the Stadthalle Ebermannstadt, Georg-Wagner-Straße 14 in 91320 Ebermannstadt.
Saturday, April 25, 2026
Bib numbers will be issued from 05:30 to 07:00 for the Ultratrail and until 11:30 for the Speedtrail at the information stand at the start and finish area on the market square in 91320 Ebermannstadt.
The start number can only be presented in person upon presentation of a valid photo ID.
The race day is tightly timed. If possible, collection the day before is requested.
10. Official Raceshirt powered by RenéRosa
The official UTFS Raceshirt 2026 powered by RenéRosa is available in men’s and women’s cut as a short and long-sleeved version in two different color variants, exclusively at registration and remaining stocks at the information stand on site for 39,00 EUR (short sleeve) and 59,00 EUR (long sleeve) available. Only while stocks last.

The scope of services of a paid registration includes the following items:

12. overnight stays and pop-up camp
At the market place of the city of Ebermannstadt as well as in the immediate vicinity there are numerous overnight accommodations. In addition to hotels, you can also stay in guesthouses, vacation apartments or at the campsite.
Since 2025, there has been a pop-up camp with an integrated large parking lot. The park & camp areas are located 1500m east of Ebermannstadt, on the grounds of the Ebsermare. Details on the facilities of the camping area will be published at the beginning of 2026.
13. Parking and arrival by public transport
It is requested to form carpools if possible.
Arrival by public transport is possible via Deutsche Bahn. The station is 500m from the market square and 1km from the town hall.
14. Showers and locker rooms
Showers and locker rooms are located in the Stadthalle Ebermannstadt, Georg-Wagner-Straße 14 in 91320 Ebermannstadt.
15. Clothes bag
Clothes bags can be dropped off. The place and time of delivery is yet to be communicated. The clothes bag must be marked with the start number sticker enclosed in the starting documents. Valuables will not be accepted. No liability will be assumed for the delivery of garment bags.
16. Race briefing and starting grid
The race briefing will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 19:00 in the Stadthalle Ebermannstadt.
An abstract will be published online in digital form.
Ultratrail
Immediately after the closing of the start number distribution, the last and most current information about the race will in the start and finish area at the market place from 06:30am to 06:45am be provided. Participation is mandatory.
The starting grid will be taken from 06:45am. The starting signal will be given punctually at 07:00am.
Speedtrail
Also after the closing of the race number distribution, in the start and finish area at the market place from 11:30am to 11:45am the last and most current information about the race will be given . Participation is mandatory.
From 11:45 am. the starting grid will be taken. The starting signal will be given punctually at 12:00am.
17. equipment (mandatory and recommended)
To participate in the LOWA Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz, there is a mandatory equipment
as well as a supplementary recommendation. Sporadic checks are carried out. In the event of inadequate equipment, the starting authorization may be withdrawn or race results disallowed.

19. ITRA and DUV
The Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz is an official race of the International Trailrunning Association (ITRA).
Athletes with an ITRA Performance Index of >= 800 for men and >= 680 for women are eligible for a free start. A free start code can be requested by sending an email to info@ut-fs.de.
The Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz is listed in the statistics of the Deutschen Ultramarathon-Vereinigung e. V.
20. Program and map
The program of the 5th LOWA Ultratrail Franconian Switzerland will be published a few weeks before the event.
21. Abandonment / race abandonment
A call center will be set up for the race on Saturday to take all relevant calls in the following scenarios between 7 am and 7 pm:
- DNF without health restrictions
- Shuttle service to DNF at VPs
- Medical emergencies
- Competition-relevant entries

22. Disqualification
- Sporadic equipment checks may be carried out. Failure to wear the mandatory equipment may result in an enforced DNS.
- In the event of excessive demands, unsportsmanlike behavior, shortcuts, use of vehicles, throwing away garbage, it is at the discretion of the race management to disqualify participants and exclude them from the
event. - Crewing and support is only possible at the official VPs.
- Support outside the VPs leads to immediate disqualification.
- Putting down or picking up additional aids, such as poles, is not permitted. Equipment must be unchanged at the start and finish.
- If fraud is suspected, the race organizers can request the GPS recording for review.
23. Participation
Participation is only possible from the age of 18 and only if you are in full health and in the required
training condition. For the children’s and youth races, the age requirements of the respective races apply. (Kidsrun 6-12 years, Youthtrail 12-18 years)
24th preparation runs / community runs
In the 2025/2026 UTFS season, free and non-binding community runs will again be held regularly for all ability groups.
25. Environmental and animal protection
Environmentally responsible behavior by all participants is a prerequisite. The much appreciated nature of Fränkische Schweiz should be left as it was found. Trash can be disposed of at the aid stations or in the start and finish areas. Attention to flora and fauna is requested. When encountering animals, appropriate and respectful behavior is assumed.
26. General notes
Registration and thus permission to start will only be granted if you agree to thedisclaimer and the privacy policy. It is assumed that both document are read carefully and consent is given at the time of registration.
The organizer reserves the right to change the route, to shorten, interrupt or cancel the race for important
reasons. In the event of an unforeseen
postponement (e.g. due to severe weather, corona or force majeure), there is no fundamental right to a refund. The organizer will try everything to find a satisfactory solution for all parties involved, if necessary by transferring the starting places to a make-up date.
Participation in the run is at your own risk. The route is not closed off or monitored. In some cases there is a danger of falling. On roads, the StVO must be obeyed and traffic must be observed. The announcements of course marshals as well as the UTFS helper team must be followed.
Only those who are confident in their ability to assess dangers and evaluate
in a racing atmosphere should take part.
